Zichovec

Our story has been written for more than 12 years. At the beginning of our journey, we never dreamed that we would build a successful craft microbrewery in such a short time, whose beer would be tapped by the best establishments in Prague, the entire Czech Republic, and abroad. And how did it all come about?

First Thought – In 2010, Ivan Husák had the idea to build his own brewery. That’s why, when he presented his vision to the whole family at a party, his brother just tapped his forehead and said, “You’re a nutcase…”. And so the name of one of our beers was born, which almost everyone remembers the first time. And even though it may have seemed like a crazy plan at first, it didn’t take long for it to become a reality.

First Beer Fest – When we were thinking about what interesting things we could organize for our fans, a beer festival was the obvious choice – quality music, great street food, a pleasant time spent and lots of unique beers. In 2018, we decided to organize the first Zichovec Beer Fest. This year was the third year and every year we try to move the festival forward, so if you have never participated before, definitely do not miss it in the coming years!

The First Rolled Can – Until 2019, we primarily bottled all our beers in kegs or bottles, like most Czech microbreweries. However, the can trend slowly started to come to our country. That is why we decided to buy a can filling line. We see cans as the packaging of the future, because they bring countless advantages to both us, the producers, and you, the consumers. Thanks to the limited access of air and light, the beer stays fresh much longer in them, and they do not represent any compromise for its final quality when consumed. Therefore, our goal is to offer most of our beers exclusively in this packaging within a few years.

Brought over the 10,000 HL limit – So here we go full steam  ahead. At the end of the year we will implement a centrifuge , an impressive piece of technology that will allow us to gain much greater control over some types of beers. Thanks to the centrifuge , we will be able to reduce losses and shorten the aging time of top – fermented  beers , and so by the end of the year we will reach 12,000  hectoliters , which is really  getting closer to the real limits of what the current possibilities of the brewery offer us . However, the plan to build a new brewery is slowly starting to take shape, which will be the central theme of the coming years. At the end of 2023, we counted 123 different beers on the market, the most in history.
